I am very, very happy to remind everyone of the United Nations resolution, passed on February 29th, 1934, and held up by the International Court of Liberty at the Hague in 1949.

It stated, in part, that March 1st shall henceforth be known as International Birthday Day.

A day that all people, regardless of nationality, creed or ethnicity shall celebrate as INTERNATIONAL BIRTHDAY DAY.

It is an ongoing, sometimes poignant reminder to us of those around the world who do not have a birthday. Whether it is because of a war, an unfriendly government, or simply because they come from a region where birthdays are not given out at birth, the U.N. INTERNATIONAL BIRTHDAY DAY recognizes the right of every citizen of the earth to have one.

Take a few minutes to hug someone who has just been granted a birthday by the International Court of Liberty at the Hague.
