'F--- off! I'm done with you': Jon Stewart to former writer

Jon Stewart may be the source of late night laughter for millions, but for one former correspondent, he was also the cause of a major breakdown.
Wyatt Cenac told comedian Marc Maron on his podcast, WTF, that Stewart and him went head to head over his impression of former Republican candidate Herman Cain during the 2012 election.
“I've got to be honest, when I heard it, it bothered me,” Cenac told Maron, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. “I felt like I had to speak for all the minorities, because there's nobody speaking for them."
Cenac told Maron he and Stewart butted heads during his entire four-year late night stint, but it was the Cain impression that he finally felt obligated to speak up and contest Stewart as the only Black writer on staff.
“I was the one black writer there. It was this thing where it's like, when you're the one — whether you want to or not — you're speaking for everybody.”
When Cenac did confront Stewart, the late night superstar allegedly went berserk, telling Cenac to, “f--- off,” multiple times.
“"I raised a concern, like 'Are you sure you want to do this? ... He got incredibly defensive. I remember he was like, 'What are you trying to say? There’s a tone in your voice.' I was like, 'There’s no tone. It bothered me.' ...And then he got upset. He stood up and he was just like, 'F--- off. I’m done with you.' And he just started screaming that to me, and he screamed it a few times. Then he was just like, 'F--- off! I’m done with you.'”
Not knowing whether he was fired or not, Cenac told Maron he wandered out to the bleachers and broke down crying.
“I was shaking, and I just sat there by myself on the bleachers and f------ cried.”
