A Romanian woman knitted herself a coat made from her own hair, that she had saved for 20 years.
Ortansa Pascariu, 65, once had very long hair -- "to my hips and beyond" -- she told Adevural daily newspaper in Bucharest.
According to her village tradition, bad luck follows women who throw away their cut hair. So she cleaned hers and kept it in the closet for years.
But it was taking up space, she said, so she decided to try her hand at weaving it into a coat.
Weaving since she was eight years old, Pascariu said braiding a coat from her own hair was a different but rewarding experience.
"It's strange but very pleasant to weave your hair," she told Adevural.
Pascariu said she's proud of how it turned out.
"It's so soft and perfect. And it keeps me warm."
