While spending Wednesday in Calgary campaigning for a pair of pending federal byelections, he noted the Liberal government has adjusted employment benefits for hard-hit resource workers, invested in infrastructure and approved an oil pipeline to new markets.

The previous federal government said for 10 years that it supported Alberta and the oilsands, but was unable to get a pipeline built to any ports, said Trudeau.

"That's not spin. That's not a political argument. Those are facts and everyone here in Alberta knows that," he said.

The byelections on April 3 are needed to fill vacancies left when former prime minister Stephen Harper and MP Jason Kenney stepped down in Calgary Heritage and Calgary Midnapore, respectively. Kenney is running for the Alberta Tory leadership.

Tender-feet each one of them. The ones you have to watch are the ones with one boot with the pant-leg tucked in and not tucked in the other boot. They are either looking for 500 head of cows or he don't know how to talk the walk.

Yes it is spin. The CPC only had a majority govt for 5 years. There was no way in hell Harper was going to be able to push anything through in those first 5 years.
However, approval was given for the pipelines although the KXL was killed by O'Bumwad. If the Democraps had won the election, the KXL would still be shelved. And the rejection of the Northern Gateway in preference for an alternative route was much needed so I guess some credit goes to the Liberals on that one. The Line 3 approval smacks of partisan politics. Line 3 was a huge issue for the left when the CPC was in power but now that the Liberals are in, Line 3 suddenly makes perfect sense and is absolutely vital for Canada.

This is why I hate partisan politics.
