Baby, two people killed in Grand Prairie, Alta. drunk-driving crash

GRAND PRAIRIE, Alta. -- RCMP say alcohol is to blame in a head-on crash that left three people dead, including a baby, in Northern Alberta early Saturday.
A second infant and two others are in critical condition after the crash near Gift Lake, 200 km northeast of Grand Prairie, and two more were hospitalized.
High Prairie RCMP were called to a collision on Highway 750 around 2:30 a.m. and found one vehicle with five occupants. The three who had been riding in the front seat, including an infant child, had all died from their injuries.
A second infant in the back of the vehicle is in critical condition after being transported to Edmonton hospital by STARS, and a youth passenger was taken to the Slave Lake Hospital in serious condition.
Two people were found in the second vehicle, including a passenger who was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital in critical condition. The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to Edmonton via air ambulance.
RCMP said alcohol was a factor and the highway was “clear, dry and straight” at the time of the collision.
